Currently
there is an increase in parties interested in the
certification of occupational health safety and
protection management system. The main incentive are the
requirements of customers of these parties.Since
29.9.2004 our certification body no. 3016 has been
accredited by the Czech Accreditation Institute for this
type of certification. As is stated further in the
table (see
branches of business) the extent of
accreditation applies to virtually all branches and is
the same as the extent of accreditation of the cert. org.
no. 3016 for quality management system certification and
the extent of accreditation of our cert. body no. 3052
for the certification of environmental management
systems. This structure enables us to accommodate any
party interested in obtaining certification from ČLPR,
in various combinations of integrated management systems |
|
OHSAS
certification verifies that the organisation meets
the specified requirements for the occupational safety
and protection management system. The specification of
OHSAS 18001, just as other system standards/norms
determine the requirements for the defined occupational
safety and protection management system which is part of
overall corporate management. It is based on specific
dangers/risks of the enterprise concerned and defines
the requirements of the specification of OHSAS 18001 for
the method of affecting them with regard to health
safety and protection throughout the entire activities
of the organisation.Extraordinary activities of the
relevant organisation are also usually included, as are
the activities of all persons who enter the relevant
organisation, and the equipment used at the workplace by
the relevant organisation or other subjects. |
Legal
requirements - Legislative requirements arise from
Directive89/391/EEC.
The Czech legislation arises from the Labour Code and a
number of other regulations regulating the labour law
sphere, e.g. government order no. 178/2001, which
determines the terms and conditions of employees'
occupational health protection, no. 494/2001, which
determines the method of recording, reporting and
sending records about the accident, no. 495/2001, which
determines the extent and more detailed terms and
conditions of providing personal protective working
aids, Act No.258/2000, on the Protection of Public
Health and a Series of Hygiene Regulations). Likewise, a
number of regulations and technical norms are
incorporated into the system's requirements according to
the extent and specialisation of the organisation. These
further requirements are highly individual and depend on
the extent of the organisation's activities and are
determined particularly by the organisation's
technological equipment. |
The
purposefulness of the management system based the
requirements arising from OHSAS - fulfilment of the
requirements for an integral part of the integrated
corprorate management system, fulfilment of the legal
obligations, norms and regulations; proving to the
customers and employees that corporate products or
services are produced or performed under defined working
conditions with regard to OHSAS; improvement of the
corporate OHSAS system, reduction of the number of
occupational accidents, clear responsibility of people
for OHSAS, accommodating position for collective
bargaining.
The further important effects are increasing the trust
of consumers and the inspection body (e.g. ČÚBP-Czech
Occupational Safety Office) and also the significant
marketing effect. |
|
Certification - The specification of OHSAS 18001 is
accepted by certification and accreditation bodies as a
replacement for the non-approved ISO norm (planned
series of ISO 18000 norms). The ČLPR has already
certified 10 organisations in the accredited regime.
International Validity - The OHSAS system is
certified by various certification organisations,
Accredited in a number of countries. As was mentioned
above, since 1.4.2004 accreditation is also performed in
the Czech Republic.
